Set in Yemen's historical Old City of Ibb, "In the Long Run" follows seven-year-old Ahmed as he embarks on a simple errand to buy bread that spirals into an enchanting adventure. Navigating through the bustling streets, Ahmed's journey reveals the vibrant community life and the city’s rich, but endangered, architectural heritage. Along the way, he encounters local children, a funeral, and listens to an elderly storyteller, turning a mundane task into a profound exploration of curiosity and the wonders of childhood. The film features performances by local residents, adding authenticity to its depiction of Ibb’s culture and landscapes.
