Sondos Shabayek is an Egyptian filmmaker, acting coach and intimacy co-ordinatorbased in Berlin. She has over 12 years of experience working with actors and non-actors, facilitating storytelling workshops, documenting personal narratives, anddirecting theatre performances of women and gender-based stories.Sondos’s work is dedicated to exploring authentically telling stories of herself and otherwomen and being part of a truthful and honest representation of the lives of womenon screen. And she is passionate about bringing Intimacy coordination to the film andTV industry in the MENA region.Sondos was the recipient of the 2021 Voices that Matter scholarship – Women inScreen industries and last October completed her MA in directing at the Metfi
lm schoolin Berlin. And in 2022 she was selected to join the Intimacy Coordinator Trainingprogram created and run by Safe Sets funded by Netflix and supported by the NationalFilm and Video Foundation and the Independent Producers Organisation in SouthAfrica. Sondos is also now part of Safe sets company (South African company offeringintimacy coordinators for film, television and theatre. Safe Sets Intimacy also havecoordinators in the UK and Spain, and collaborators across Europe, America, Brazil,Canada, Australia and New Zealand).
